Hi I’m Tien-Tien, a product designer based in the (metro) Atlanta, GA area

I love finding the sweet spot between technology and hospitality to create experiences that help people do their best work. I've been designing digital products for 8+ years, working across industries and company stages, from early-stage ventures to mid-size organizations serving businesses at scale. I approach design with a generalist lens, adapting my process to fit the problem at hand.

The last few years

I’m currently at CollegeVine, an AI-native company that deploys AI agents to help higher ed institutions deliver exceptional student and staff experiences while reducing operational costs. I've designed new experiences as the company shifts toward a platform-based model, and led the design for one of our first agents: the AI One Stop.

Previously at Help Scout, I led the design of one of the company's first AI products, AI Answers, which brought conversational AI to customer self-service. I also designed the next iteration of AI Drafts, helping customer support teams craft better emails for their customers.

What I value in my work

I've worked across a variety of teams, company stages, and situations, and while I've learned to adapt to many of them, I've also discovered where I'm happiest and do my best work.

01

Collaboration from the start

I value working in environments built on trust, transparency, and a genuine desire to grow. I care deeply about open dialogue, shared context, and working with kind, thoughtful people.

02

Curiously convicted

I believe the best work starts with curiosity and comes to life through thoughtful conviction. I’m energized by exploring ideas, asking good questions, and shaping ideas that are genuinely useful.

03

Creative freedom

I do my best work when I’m trusted to take ownership of meaningful problems and given room to explore thoughtful ways through them. I share what I’m learning and enjoy bringing collaborators along throughout the process.

04

In the canopy and on the forest floor

Some of my favorite conversations are the big-picture, 30,000-foot ones. Being part of these early helps me understand the “why” behind the work so I can make better decisions once I’m back on the forest floor.

All the the other time

I enjoy finding ways to experiment and play with new materials. I began hand-carving wooden spoons and other wooden wares a few years ago. This past year, I picked up pottery at my local community center. Lately I’ve been experimenting by building my own app with Claude Code with my spouse.
